Dudhnoi College is a premier institution of higher education located on the southern bank of the mighty Brahmaputra in the district of Goalpara, Assam. Strategically situated within a two-hour drive from Dispur—the state capital—the college lies in the heart of Dudhnoi, which now serves as the headquarters of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council. Founded in 1972 by a group of visionary and dedicated individuals, the college was established on a sprawling campus of approximately 100 bighas of land. Its founding was deeply rooted in the hopes and aspirations of the local marginalized and indigenous agrarian communities, predominantly inhabited by tribal populations. Dudhnoi College stands as a living symbol of the collective dream, determination, and perseverance of the people of the region.
The academic journey of the college began with the Arts stream and gradually expanded to include the Science stream in 1996 and the Commerce stream in 2015, thereby broadening the educational horizon for students from diverse backgrounds. The college community works together with unwavering commitment to excellence in academics, research and co-curricular development. Constructive feedback from students, alumni, teachers and guardians plays a crucial role in refining the institution's holistic development and guiding its journey forward. The steady progress of the college is evident in the outcomes of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) evaluations. In its third cycle of NAAC assessment conducted in 2024, Dudhnoi College was proudly accredited with an ‘A’ grade, securing a commendable CGPA of 3.05. This achievement is a testament to the college's relentless pursuit of quality and its collective spirit of growth.
