About Course

The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) is a transformative four-year undergraduate programme launched by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) that integrates subject knowledge and pedagogical training in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It’s designed to prepare future educators with both subject expertise and pedagogical skills from the start of their college education.

(A) Main aims of ITEP:

• To provide a four-year integrated B.Ed. program that combines subject knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and practical training from the beginning.
• To elevate teaching into a profession of choice by ensuring high-quality and rigorous teacher preparation.
• To produce highly qualified, motivated, and skilled teachers who can improve learning outcomes in schools.
• To integrate multidisciplinary education with professional teacher training, aligning with the liberal and holistic vision of NEP 2020.
• To provide early field exposure and internships in schools to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
• To instil a spirit of inquiry, critical thinking, and reflective teaching among future educators.


(B) Degrees offered: B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed., B.Com. B.Ed.

(C) Eligibility: Students who have completed Class XII

(D) Admission process: Admission is through the National Common Entrance Test (NCET)
conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

(E) Key features:
• Combines subject knowledge with pedagogical training from the start.
• Replaces traditional two-step teacher education (graduation + B.Ed.) with a streamlined,
integrated model.
• Focuses on holistic development, including ethics, communication, and digital literacy
