Dudhnoi College is committed to providing a safe and conducive environment for students and women at workplace. As per the Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013’ and UGC (Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations Act, 2015, Internal Complaints Committee has been established by Dudhnoi College to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere for the women employees and students of the college. As per Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 “sexual harassment” includes any one or more of the following unwelcome acts or behaviour (whether directly or by implication) namely:—

  1. Physical contact and advances; or
  2. A demand or request for sexual favours; or
  3. Making sexually coloured remarks; or
  4. Showing pornography; or
  5. Any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature

Hence it is the responsibility of Higher Educational Institutions to act decisively under all gender based violence against employees and students of all sexes recognizing that primarily women employees and students and some male students and students of the third gender. The UGC regulation states that sexual harassment is gender neutral and institutions should take action on complaints of employees and students of all sexes. Dudhnoi College Internal Complaints Committee promotes measures aimed at achieving gender equality, removal of gender bias or discrimination, sexual harassment by organising awareness programmes and campaigns for the benefit of all members of the college. Dudhnoi College Internal Complaints Committee provide assistance if an employee or a student chooses to file a complaint with the police; ensure that victims or witnesses are not victimized or discriminated against while dealing with complaints of sexual harassment. The victimised employees or students or any witness can file written complaint with details and submit it directly to the members of the committee or can mail into [email protected] or [email protected].
